Mastering Organic Fruit Production with David Passafiume

David will be presenting on his journey and practices in organic fruit production. He will cover the entire process from site preparation to planting and ongoing maintenance, with a focus on strawberries and apples, and a brief look at raspberries. Key topics include the use of cover crops, crop rotation, and sustainable practices such as eliminating synthetic chemicals and enhancing soil health with micronutrients and compost. 

David Passafiume and his family run a certified organic farm located in Markham, Ontario. In 2001, they decided to convert to organic farming, and after much effort—and a lot of hoeing—they opened their gates to the public in 2007. The farm grows a variety of organic and local products, including pick-your-own and ready-picked strawberries, raspberries, and apples.
